Many people lock the screen on windows xp or vista. But on windows 7 there is no option for locking the screen. So to lock the windows you have to use the short-key. You have to press the Windows Key + L to lock it.

This way you can lock the screen in windows 7.

RUN command is very handy on windows operating system. By default, it is not enabled in windows 7. To enable RUN command follow the procedure.

1) Right-click an open area in Start Menu.
2) Go to Properties -> Start Menu -> Customize and check “Run Command.
3) Done.

This will enable RUN command in windows 7.

Security messages are necessary to let end user know about the issues related to operating system. But sometimes they’re annoying. If you want then you can turn this feature off. To turn off the security messages follow the procedure below:

1) Go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> Action Center -> Change Action Center Settings.

2) You can turn off the following notifications: Windows Update, Internet Security Settings, Network Firewall, Spyware and related protection, User Account Control, Virus Protection, Windows Backup, Windows Troubleshooting, Check for updates.

After turning off those security messages you can exit from control panel. You’ll no longer see those security messages anymore.

Windows 7 is improved it’s window arrangement feature in this release. But if you’re distracted by this feature then you can disable this as well. To disable this follow the procedure below.

1) Go to start >Run REGEDIT.
2) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
3) Set WindowArrangementActive to 0.
4) Reboot

Now you’ll find the feature disabled by windows.

If you’re using windows 7 then you should create repair disk in case you run into problems booting the OS later on. To create repair disk follow the procedure explained below:

Click Start > Maintenance > Create a System Repair Disc, and let Windows 7 build a bootable emergency disc. If the worst does happen then it could be the only way to get your PC running again.
